Alternating points of view and a nonlinear plot line tell the stories of two sisters growing up. As Lily became a pretty, popular teenage girl with a boyfriend, Jane, her slightly older sister, became more severely mentally ill and socially isolated. Tragedy strikes, and Jane must resolve her jealousy and bitterness while Lily must resolve her guilt at being the normal one. |
