PASSIVE VS. ACTIVE SENTENCE PRACTICE
(because Ms. Lopez loves you!)
Try to make these sentences
with passive voice become active. Remember that some may have more
than one passive verb, an unclear subject, or even a pronoun as the second
subject. If you copy and paste them, you'll be less likely to forget
part of the sentence. Good luck (and dare I say have fun)!
1. The play was enjoyed by the students.
The students enjoyed the play.
2. Irony is appreciated by only the most insightful people.
Only the most insightful people appreicate irony.
3. Strong reading skills are needed by all students so that all subjects

9. Food is needed to live by everyone, but the idea is overdone by many
people.

the idea.
10. Fear is warranted from people in a dangerous situation.
A dangerous situation warrants fear from people.
11. Even though the city was pelted by rain for days on end, the traffic
was not bothered by it.
Even though rain pelted the city for days on end, it
did not bother the traffic.
